At the moment I am listening to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack that my wonderful hubby got me instead of an easter egg (also got the DT version of Casanova, and POTC, lucky ole me).
My all time favourite track from the movie was 'Nature Boy', which Ewan McGregor did quite well, but imagine my surprise when listening to the soundtrack to discover that the version on the soundtrack is by none other than our own Mr David Bowie! And very good it is too....

I'm in a romantic mood so I've gone for Roxette, currently fading like a flower.

I like a wide (and some might say weird) range of music so my favorite CD seems to change more often than my cats' litter box (TMI?) . . . Bowie goes without saying; I especially love his older stuff like "Life on Mars", "Sound and Vision", "Under Pressure", and of course the Labyrinth soundtrack (except "Chilly Down".) I like some of the songs you guys have listed, like "Raspberry Beret", "Blasphemous Rumours", "What Have I Done to Deserve This", and lots of other 80s stuff . . .

My current fave has switched from a CD of old Irish songs sung entirely in Gaelic to Angels and Airwaves' We Don't Need to Whisper. It's amazing. It has such an etheric, adventurous sound, as though it's urging the listener to leap up and charge off into outer space to engage in daring exploration - very stirring, and parts of it are quite beautiful. If you have access to Fuse, they show the video to "The Adventure" - it takes place on a spaceship.

You'll have to listen to the songs (or better yet, watch the video) to get the connection, but a couple of days ago I went to my favorite used book store and bought The Martian Chronicles, despite the fact that I'm not a huge Bradbury fan (or much of a sci fi fan, for that matter; I prefer magic to technology) and the clerk seemed really puzzled by the fact that it was the second copy he'd sold in two days.
